Baptcare Family Violence Program +SHIFT

What is +SHIFT?

+SHIFT offers free therapeutic group support to people who identify as a woman and are over 18 years of age.

+SHIFT is a healing program for women to explore family safety and viable alternatives to force in intimate relationships. We work to build empowerment, self-determination, safety and independence.

The program offers therapeutic group support and individual case support. Our services are culturally sensitive and LGBTI inclusive.

The program is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services. It is delivered in partnership with Berry Street and is delivered across three locations

  • Western Metropolitan Melbourne
  • Northern Metropolitan Melbourne
  • Ballarat

Services offered include:

  • Therapeutic group intervention
  • Individualised support.

Accessing the service

The program is available to people who:

  • Identify as woman and are over 18 years of age
  • Have used force in an intimate relationship
  • Living or have links to Western Metropolitan Melbourne, Northern Metropolitan Melbourne or Ballarat
  • Ready to engage in therapeutic interventions

Duration

+SHIFT is a 16-session program and is delivered over 16 weeks.

Individual support is provided prior to commencing +SHIFT group, during and can continue to be provided to group participants for six weeks post completion of +SHIFT group.

Referrals

Referrals can be received from service providers supporting with women who have used force in an intimate relationship. You can also self-refer into the program.
