The Orchards Retirement Living

Premium retirement living in Doncaster East

As an inclusive community, The Orchards offers the opportunity to make new friends and provide some additional support. Among the many exceptional shared spaces at The Orchards is a café offering a range of delicacies, and a private dining room which can be booked by residents for special occasions with family and friends.

For less formal gatherings, the stylish club lounge and bar is always welcoming. You can enjoy an active retirement with a state-of-the-art indoor pool and well-equipped gym.

Living in Melbourne’s well-established eastern suburbs offers the best of both worlds – it’s leafy, relaxed and peaceful, yet everything you need is within easy reach, with the Melbourne CBD just 20 minutes away.

Living at Baptcare The Orchards retirement living

The Orchards offers a choice of 33 one-, two- or three-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a generous, open-plan living room featuring full-height, double-glazed sliding doors and engineered European oak timber floors.

The Orchards also offers 52 villas with an abundance of space, indoors and out. Interiors feature expansive open-plan living, full-height windows, European oak floors and Caesarstone benchtops. Superior fittings, fixtures and finishes feature throughout.

At The Orchards, you’re surrounded by major parks and reserves, including Currawong Bush Park, the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail and the sprawling Westerfold Park. There are great options for shopping, services and entertainment too.

The Pine’s is just a short stroll away, and Westfield Doncaster is around 10 minutes by car or bus (the bus stops right outside The Orchards). You can be soaking up some art and history at Heide within 15 minutes, and it’s also reassuring to know that excellent medical centres and hospitals are nearby.

We want everyone at The Orchards to feel a sense of ease, along with an emergency call system that’s monitored 24-hours a day. For those times when you’re not up to the chores, our domestic services, like cleaning and shopping, will help make life that little bit easier. Frequently asked questions

Is moving to a retirement community the right choice for me?

Deciding to live in a retirement village is more than a real estate purchase. It’s a choice that’s about being part of a vibrant community, where people of similar ages and interests enjoy a fulfilling and diverse lifestyle. Residents experience independence and comfort, with lasting social connections all delivered around a range of facilities and services that have been designed with you and your needs in mind.

Is a retirement village for me?

The only requirement to live in a retirement village like The Orchards is that residents are over the age of 55. You don’t have to be retired; in fact, some residents continue to work part-time, and in some cases, full-time. While most retirement villages offer a range of activities and social events, you’re free to choose to participate as much or as little as you like. It’s important that you find a retirement village that’s the right fit for you.

What shared spaces are available to enjoy?

Residents at The Orchards can enjoy a new community centre which is available for everyone to use. In this shared space you’ll find the gym, hair salon, swimming pool, club lounge and bar, reception, alfresco area, library, restaurant, private dining room, consulting rooms and multipurpose room.

Can I have visitors, such as my grandchildren come and stay?

Your villa is your home and it’s your choice who you invite to stay. You are welcome to bring your visitors to enjoy all of the facilities. For longer term stays however, The Orchards does have restrictions which are in your contract and residents are encouraged to discuss their options with the Village Manager.

Can I get support and care if I need it?

A range of services, such as assistance with showering and dressing, personal care, medication supervision, villa cleaning and food preparation are available for a fee. If you would like any of these services, specialist Baptcare staff members are available to discuss your needs.

Can I have a pet?

Your pet is a beloved member of your family, so of course you are welcome to bring it.
