At St Hilary’s, our commitment to building a strong sense of community is not confined to the facility itself. As well as providing a place where residents can truly feel that they belong, we are also actively involved with the broader community through our partnerships with the local primary school, childcare centre and RSL club. St Hilary’s is conveniently located close to shops and services, and our residents have frequent opportunities to get out into the community by joining our bus trips, shopping outings and group lunches.
Designed for living
Built in 2008, St Hilary’s is a contemporary aged care community characterised by a blend of homely living spaces and modern furnishings. Our shared areas – which are filled with natural light – include a comfortable dining room and a sitting area that offers the ideal spot to relax with a book from our library. In winter, you may prefer the cosiness of our lounge room, which features an attractive fireplace. In the warmer months, our landscaped gardens and central courtyard are ideal for getting some fresh air and taking in the peaceful surrounds. We even have a vegetable garden for residents and their visitors to enjoy.

St Hilary’s features some of the latest developments in aged care. Our innovative lifting equipment, bedding and chairs help us to meet the individual needs of each resident. We have exceptional systems for auditing the care we provide and ensuring continuous quality improvements. And we also provide ongoing training of our staff to respond to the care needs of our residents. Baptcare St Hilary’s Community is a single-level building set among landscaped gardens. There are 50 rooms in total, and we cater for all levels of care requirements (low to high). The intimate layout of our community makes it easy for residents to access shared areas and socialise with others.
Our on-site amenities include a hairdressing salon, kiosk, chapel, library and laundry services. There is also a wide range of local shops and services, located only a couple of blocks away.

St Hilary's is a residential aged care community that excels in providing support to those requiring a higher level of care. With registered nurses on-site at all times, St Hilary's is accredited to provide all levels of residential aged care including permanent, respite and palliative care. Each resident will have a personalised care plan, which will be developed together with the resident and their family.

Our qualified and experienced staff provide exceptional care and support. All our staff are carefully selected and trained to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care.

Beyond 24/7 nursing care, other health services available on-site at St Hilary’s include:

The Director of Nursing attends to all acute clinical care issues, ensuring prompt consultation with the appropriate healthcare professional and community health services, if required.
Nutritional care
You will be offered a varied choice of tasty, healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All food is prepared fresh every day by chefs on-site. Meal options come at no additional cost to our residents. A dietitian helps to plan the menu and takes into consideration all cultural, religious and dietary requirements. Relatives and friends are welcome to join you for meals with advance booking.

Our team of lifestyle staff have created a stimulating program of activities and experiences to choose from. Activities can be tailored to meet your individual interests, cultural background, and social, emotional and physical abilities. Pastoral care
Pastoral care is an important part of life at all Baptcare communities, including St Hilary's. Our chaplains are available to listen to residents and their families and journey alongside them, whatever their background or situation. We offer emotional and spiritual support, honouring each person’s unique spirituality and how they find meaning and purpose. Our chaplains also assist with prayer, worship, sacraments and other spiritual practices, including regular devotional and church services where appropriate.

We consider a number of factors to manage our waiting lists. People in urgent need are the highest priority. Other factors include someone’s readiness to enter an aged care home, and if the accommodation that becomes available suits their individual care needs.
If you are offered a room and are not ready at that time you can decline the room without it affecting your position on the waiting list.

Who is eligible for a place at St Hilary's?
St Hilary’s is a residential aged care community for older people who need a higher level of care than what can be provided in their own home. Places are available for government- funded residents.
How can I apply for a place at St Hilary's?
1. Apply for residential aged care through the My Aged Care website. Call 13 BAPTCARE (13 22 78) and we can guide you through the process.
2. My Aged Care will arrange an ACAS assessment visit to determine your care needs.
3. Appoint an authorised representative (Power of Attorney) if necessary.
4. Get an income and asset assessment. This will determine your aged care fees and whether you qualify for government funding.
5. Choose the Baptcare residential aged care community that’s right for you. You may wish to consider a respite stay to see if the community meets your needs.
6. Call 13 BAPTCARE (13 22 78) to arrange a tour of your chosen community and fill out an application form.

What’s in the local area of St Hilary's?
St Hilary’s is located in Morwell, a town in the Latrobe Valley area of Gippsland, in South-Eastern Victoria, approximately 149 km east of Melbourne between Moe and Traralgon.
Morwell has a rose garden in the business district, which won an award in 2009 for 'garden of excellence'. Proudly showcasing over 4000 bushes, including more than 260 varieties in 110 beds, the Rose Garden is one of the finest in the southern hemisphere and is now listed in the World Federation of Rose Societies.
The city is known for its role as a major energy production centre for Victoria as the centre of a major coal mining and fossil-fuel power generation industry.
The Princes Freeway (A1) bypasses the town to the south while the old Princes Highway which once passed through east–west through its centre is now Princes Drive and Commercial Road.
Rail transport includes both passenger rail and freight rail. The town's only station is Morwell railway station which is on the Bairnsdale line. Both the Traralgon V/Line rail service and the Bairnsdale V/Line rail service stop there with a two way hourly service. Travel time to Melbourne ranges from approximately 109 minutes during peak travel times.
General aviation operates from Latrobe Regional Airport which services the whole Latrobe Valley urban area.
