Care tailored to your specific needs
Amberlea is accredited to provide all levels of residential aged care (low to high), as well as short-term (respite) care, specialist dementia care and end-of-life (palliative) care. This means we can provide ‘ageing-in-place’ – residents can stay at Amberlea even if their health changes or their needs increase. Every resident has their own care plan, which is developed together with the resident and their family.
Our qualified and experienced staff provide exceptional care and support. We have registered nurses on-site at all times. All our staff are carefully selected to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care.
Beyond 24/7 nursing care, other health services available on-site at Amberlea include:
- Speech therapy
- Palliative care
- Diversional therapy
- Pet therapy
- Visiting doctors.
Amberlea is also located in close proximity to Drouin’s regional hospital and medical services.
You will be offered a choice of tasty, healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All food is prepared fresh every day by our on-site chef. A dietitian helps to plan the menu and takes into consideration all cultural, religious and dietary requirements. Relatives and friends are always welcome to join you for meals by booking our private dining room.
Keep up with your favourite pastimes
Our team of lifestyle staff ensures you have a stimulating program of activities and experiences to choose from. Activities can be tailored to meet your individual interests, cultural background, and social, emotional and physical abilities. As well as maintaining your own interests, you can enjoy socialising with others at our social occasions and events. Along with a range of cultural celebrations and special guests, we celebrate all birthdays and significant dates.
Connected with the local community
We offer various resources to keep our residents connected to their local community. Our residents enjoy regular bus outings to Gippsland’s community attractions, church services, library, movie cinema and shopping centres.
Room to host family and friends
Amberlea is your home, so your friends and family are always welcome here. You can choose to spend time with them in our beautiful shared areas, or we also have private function rooms that you can book for special occasions.
Pastoral care is an important part of life at all Baptcare communities, including Amberlea. Our chaplains are available to listen to residents and their families and journey alongside them, whatever their background or situation. We offer emotional and spiritual support, honouring each person’s unique spirituality and how they find meaning and purpose. Our chaplains also assist with prayer, worship, sacraments and other spiritual practices, including regular devotional and church services where appropriate.
Social and recreational support
There is plenty of socialising at Amberlea. You’ll meet people through bus trips, games and our regular group activities and events. We also understand that sometimes you just want to enjoy the scenery, so there are also plenty of different places to just sit and chat.
The comfort of familiar routines
We respect your choices about your desired daily routine. But we also encourage you to try new activities and become involved in the community so you can maintain your interests and enjoy a full life.
