BaptistCare Abbey Gardens community and youth theatre take centre stage
- 05 Jun 2025

Mother’s Day might be over – but we can’t resist a special story about family bonds, especially when our Abbey Gardens Residential Aged Care community in Warragul is involved!
Courtney (pictured left) is one of our fabulous Personal Care Attendants at Abbey Gardens – and Choreographer of the Warragul Youth Theatre’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz.’
Courtney’s daughter, Claudia (middle), sparkled in her performance as Mayor of Munchkinland. While son, Lucas (right), is one of the production’s biggest fans and supporters.
The Abbey Gardens connection to this wonderful production, held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre, didn’t stop there. Another young performer, Bethany, was the granddaughter of one of our residents. And Abbey Gardens stepped up to help with props for this fantastic show.
“We were honoured to hear Abbey Gardens acknowledged in the show’s thank you message, highlighting the fantastic spirit of collaboration that exists in our community,” said Tanneke, Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant.
Whether it’s a trip to see the local theatre group or a ride into town for lunch and a day out, there’s sure to be something in Abbey Garden’s upcoming calendar of events that’s meaningful to you.
