Step 5 – Home visits and assessments
This involves interviews with you and everyone who lives in your home. A detailed assessment report is submitted to an approval panel for review. Once accredited, we will match you with a child or young person and provide you with ongoing support.
Once you’ve finished the training, we meet with you at your home on a number of occasions. We’ll discuss your life, how a foster child will fit into your household, how you would respond in certain situations and the types of foster care you are most interested in.
These assessments will give you and Baptcare time to discuss your circumstances, and how we can best support you.
After completing the assessment and interview process, an approval panel containing our team and external partners will review your accreditation.
