Hope amidst uncertainty

Easter is typically a time for family, holidays, gathering and celebration and although these events took a different form this year there continued to be a sense of community and connection across our sites. In many of our aged care homes Chaplains led Easter services reminding residents of the Easter message of hope amidst uncertainty.

Each home found a unique way to celebrate Easter. At Heritage Manor residents participated in an Easter Door Decorating competition. This saw much creativity and competition, giving the ‘official judging panel’ plenty to think about - with eventual winners, Anita and Trish coming out on top. Congratulations to all that took part.

At Amberlea, a ‘window of love’ was prepared for residents and families to keep connected during the Easter weekend. Residents were encouraged to make Easter cards and write letters to share with family and friends.

While at Baptcare Hedley Sutton staff and residents have worked together to prepare an Easter Brunch Celebration. Residents enjoyed putting together table decorations with stencils and crafts – ensuring everyone had plenty of things to do to keep them busy.

From all the residents, volunteers and staff at the Baptcare Community, we hope everyone had a weekend full of laughter and joy this Easter.
