Update: Wyndham Lodge Community - Werribee, Victoria

Posted: 10 October 2020

Baptcare can confirm that as of 10 October 2020, there have been no new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) associated with Wyndham Lodge in Werribee, Victoria.

Baptcare Wyndham Lodge has now moved into ‘enhanced surveillance’ as directed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

This means residents will be able to move freely on their own floors.

The safety, health and well-being of residents continues to be paramount. Zone segregation, infection control and hand hygiene protocols practised for months now will continue. Staff will continue to wear masks at work.

We continue to actively work with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to review and re-assess all residents’ clinical needs to ensure we maintain our quality of care throughout this transition.

There is one resident (receiving care in hospital) who is still an active case. We continue to monitor this resident’s progress.

We have been truly blessed during this challenging time with the genuine and unwavering support of so many in the local Wyndham community and for this we say: ‘thank you’.

We would like to thank our residents and their families for their support and understanding during this time. We would like to thank the various Australian and Victorian departments, Western Health and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission for their support.

This partnership with our local community, Victorian healthcare services, Victorian and Australian governments and all our partners has been critical over this period as we returned Wyndham Lodge to a COVID-free community.
