Baptcare can confirm that as of 16 September 2020, one new staff case of coronavirus (COVID-19) has been diagnosed at Wyndham Lodge since yesterday.

Baptcare can confirm that as of today there are currently 51 active cases of COVID-19 linked to Baptcare Wyndham Lodge Community in Werribee:

  • There are currently 12 active cases among residents at Wyndham Lodge who are receiving care and support as they recover in a separate area of the facility – an increase in one since yesterday.
  • In addition, there are 13 residents with active cases receiving care in hospital – no change since yesterday.
  • Currently, there are 26 active cases among staff who are isolating – a decrease in eight since yesterday. We continue to be in touch with them regularly and support them in their recovery. For those staff who have been deemed ‘close contacts’, they continue to isolate and be tested as a precaution.
  • Sadly, to date, 22 residents have passed away with a COVID-19 positive diagnosis.

The safety, health and well-being of residents remains paramount. There have been some new arrangements put in place, including transfers for some residents who have tested negative for COVID-19. This has been based on advice from clinicians to provide stable and safe care for all residents.

Baptcare continues to work with the Australian and Victorian governments, Western Health and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to manage the COVID-19 outbreak.

Caring for all residents, staff and family members and safeguarding the most at-risk are our key priorities. While visitor restrictions are in place, we are working to communicate closely with residents and their nominated representatives, to maintain connections.

We are also working with authorities to ensure continual supplies of personal protective equipment and operational support.

Baptcare remains focused and committed to providing our best care for all residents and to protect our staff – their health and well-being remains our unwavering number one priority.
