Update: Baptcare Wyndham Lodge Community – Werribee, Victoria

Baptcare can confirm that as of today there are currently 60 active cases of COVID-19 linked to Baptcare Wyndham Lodge Community in Werribee:
- There are currently 11 active cases (a decrease of two since yesterday) among residents at Wyndham Lodge who are receiving care and support as they recover in a separate area of the facility – no change since yesterday.
- In addition, there are 13 residents (an increase of one since yesterday) with active cases receiving care in hospital – an increase of one since yesterday.
- Currently, there are 36 active cases among staff who are isolating – an increase in three since yesterday. We continue to be in touch with them regularly and support them in their recovery. For those staff who have been deemed ‘close contacts’, they continue to isolate and be tested as a precaution.
- Sadly, a resident of Wyndham Lodge passed away yesterday with a COVID-19 diagnosis. To date, 22 residents have passed away with a COVID positive diagnosis.
The safety, health and well-being of residents remains paramount. Baptcare continues to work with the Australian and Victorian governments, Western Health and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to manage the COVID-19 outbreak.
Caring for all residents, staff and family members and safeguarding the most at-risk are our key priorities. While visitor restrictions are in place, we are working to communicate closely with residents and their nominated representatives, to maintain connections.
We are also working with authorities to ensure continual supplies of personal protective equipment and operational support.
