Baptcare extends Gippsland service offering

Baptcare has acquired three aged care homes in the Gippsland region, extending our mission and vision further into Drouin, Warragul and Morwell. This is a historical moment for Baptcare and we are excited about further strengthening our ties with regional communities.

By bringing Abbey Gardens, Amberlea and Heritage Manor into the Baptcare fold, we will be able to partner with an additional 310 elderly residents, so they can continue to live full lives. This acquisition, which includes an Approval In Principle bed licences, now puts Baptcare as a top 10 provider of residential aged care in Victoria!

When Baptcare chose to acquire the three Alliance Care Services Group of aged care homes, we knew it was vital to maintain the legacy and close community ties, both for the residents and the wider community. To ensure this, we have offered the existing staff continuing roles with Baptcare, so residents will continue to be cared for by the same friendly and familiar people.

We are truly honoured and very proud to have been chosen to continue this legacy of strong community and local support.

“Our vision is to create communities where every person is cherished, and that includes partnering with people to enhance their health, safety and comfort so they can continue to live their lives with meaning,” Baptcare CEO Graham Dangerfield said.

“Baptcare provides residential aged care for more than 1400 people, so we’re honoured to be able to extend our service offering within the Gippsland community.”

The Baptcare Board recognises regional areas have a need of community and aged care. Back at a planning session in November 2016, the Board expressed a commitment to keep a presence in the Latrobe Valley and to consider innovative ways to further support people in the community. Nearly two years later, it is exciting to see that vision come to life.

With an existing aged care home, Baptcare St Hilary’s community in Morwell and the provision of In Home Care Services in the Gippsland region, we are excited about continuing to provide the best of care.
