Life at Baptcare Westhaven Community residential aged care

A strong sense of community

From the moment you enter Baptcare Westhaven Community, you’ll notice the friendly atmosphere that makes our community feel like home. Our staff are welcoming and approachable, and they take their time to engage with all of our residents. We make sure that there is always someone available to speak to residents, whether they have requests or questions about their care, or simply want some company.

Celebrating our diverse community

Westhaven embodies the community spirit of the local area – many of our residents come from Footscray, Yarraville, Williamstown and surrounding neighbourhoods. We celebrate the diverse cultures of our local area, which are reflected in our multicultural staff and residents. Westhaven has established a wing for residents to come together and socialise in a setting that celebrates and recognises Asian cultures, which is fitted with Asian-style décor and furniture.

Designed for living

Our community is spacious and light-filled, with large windows framing views of gardens and nearby streets. The fresh, modern design is complemented by comfortable cushioned seats and large tables, while fireplaces ensure that communal areas are cosy even in the cooler months. Outdoors, there are beautiful internal and external gardens, which many rooms look out to. And we have 24-hour surveillance, so residents can rest assured that the community is well secured.

Innovation that makes a difference

Westhaven features the latest innovations in aged care. These include the Montessori for Dementia model of care to support residents with advanced dementia. This new approach is flexible and evidence-based, and supports residents to cope with memory loss while promoting their independence. We adapt the resident’s environment to encourage them to participate in meaningful activities and engage with their community. All rooms are fitted with ceiling hoists to make movement safer and more comfortable for residents with limited mobility.

Baptcare Westhaven Community also includes co-located retirement living apartments.

A place where you can feel at home

Conveniently located near transport, shops and services in Footscray, Baptcare Westhaven Community is set in the heart of a thriving community. With 127 private rooms, we cater for all levels of care requirements (low to high). To create a more intimate, homely feel, our three-storey building is divided into nine areas, so smaller groups of residents share dining and lounge areas. Most rooms have garden or courtyard views, and some look out to the city and the Westgate bridge. The community also features a beauty therapy salon, kiosk, chapel and laundry services.

Room types

Every room at Westhaven is private and sole-occupied, so residents’ suites are their own personal space. See the pricing snapshot for full details. • Private, ensuite bathroom
  • High-quality furniture and fittings
