Local Area Coordination and Early Childhood Intervention
Baptcare provides NDIS Local Area Coordination
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is changing how disability services are provided to Australians with a significant and permanent disability. Baptcare is proud to be an NDIS Partner in the Community provider, delivering Local Area Coordination in Tasmania and South Australia.
What does Local Area Coordination (LAC) involve?
Local Area Coordinators work with people who meet the NDIS access requirements, as well as referrer agencies and service providers. Put simply, we work with you to understand what is important to you and what you want to achieve from your NDIS plan.
We also work with communities to promote social inclusion and opportunities for people with a disability. We provide a range of community outreach programs, workshops and information sessions. For more information on what’s happening in your area, visit and ‘like’ our Facebook page.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be under the age of 65, an Australian resident and live in an area where the NDIS is available. To check your eligibility, visit the NDIS access checklist, or call Baptcare on 13 BAPTCARE (13 22 78).

Early Childhood Early Intervention services (Tasmania only)
The Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach is how the NDIS is supporting children with a disability from 0–6 years of age. This approach assists children with a disability, their families and carers to get the right supports, at the right time, for the right length of time.Baptcare is an NDIA partner for the delivery of ECEI services in Tasmania. More information about ECEI can be found here.
