Baptcare’s Local Area Coordinators
Local Area Coordinators work with people living with disabilities to put everything into place to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life
– Sash, Baptcare Local Area Coordinator
Starting your journey
If you are living with a disability or caring for someone living with a disability, our Local Area Coordinators (LACs) are friendly, caring people who can connect you with support and services in your community.
Their aim is to help people aged from 7 - 65 years get the services they need to achieve their individual goals, big and small.
We do this in partnership with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
Baptcare is an NDIA Partner in the Community, so we can help you create a support plan and access the funding you may be eligible for through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Many people find the NDIA and NDIS daunting and confusing. Don’t worry.
Your LAC is there to help people with disabilities and their carers understand the system, navigate your way around and access funding that you’re eligible for.

What practical help will an LAC give me?
Your LAC is there to support you from the moment you first call them, until you don’t need them anymore.
First, they’ll spend time getting to know you, and understand your unique needs, goals and what you’d like to improve or change in the future.
Then they’ll make a plan to help you access the funding, support and services you need to help you achieve those goals.
And because your LAC is on your team for the long-term, you can talk with them as you go along, and review and change your plan as your needs change.
Step 1: Call Baptcare to connect with an LAC <insert phone no>
Step 2: Meet your LAC to discuss your needs, goals and hope for the future
Step 3: Work with your LAC to create your plan and submit it for NDIS funding
Step 4: Put your plan into action
Step 5: Your LAC will link you up with information and services that will help support you to live your best life
Step 6: Review, adapt and change plan as needed
