About the traineeship

Baptcare is partnering with Chisholm Institute, a recognised industry leader in providing high-quality health and aged care education to Victorians, to offer a unique career opportunity to earn money while you complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015 ).

As part of our traineeship, you’ll be working alongside our experienced, supportive team gaining practical experience, and studying under the expert guidance of Chisholm Institute trainers.

You’ll be employed a minimum of 13 hours per week and attend class one day per fortnight.

What you’ll bring

  • A kind, empathetic and caring nature and a genuine desire to help older people in your community live their best lives, as defined by them
  • A current National Police Check/NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Immunization requirements (Full Covid-19 vaccination and Seasonal Flu)
  • Victorian Drivers Licence is desirable but not essential
  • Other eligibility criteria may apply.

What does a Personal Care Worker do?

You’ll help our customers live their best possible life, supporting them to live independently, with dignity and self-determination, either at home or in one of our communities by helping them with everyday activities and tasks like:

  • Build trusted, meaningful relationships with customers and their families to deliver life-transforming care and support
  • Deliver on our customers care plans, under the direction of a registered nurse or Case Manager
  • Assistance with showering and dressing
  • Providing transport
  • Help with shopping
  • Working with each customer to continue doing the things they love and enjoy.
