Accommodation for asylum seekers
Baptcare Sanctuary provides supported transitional accommodation in Melbourne for people seeking asylum living lawfully in the community awaiting the outcome of their application for a Protection visa or Humanitarian claim.
Residents at Baptcare Sanctuary have been forced to flee their homeland under the threat of persecution because of their race, religion, political beliefs, membership of a particular social group or ethnicity. Many are survivors of torture, all are survivors of trauma and unimaginable emotional distress.
We have two Sanctuary facilities in Melbourne: one houses 28 men, and the other has 44 individual bedrooms plus a three bedroom family unit.
Each resident has access to a broad range of services including on-site case management, spiritual care, social activity groups, material aid and referrals to a range of services provided by other organisations.
