The People Behind the Name
Hedley Sutton Community is the latest in a series of quality residential and community aged care facilities built and managed by Baptcare, the not-for-profit organisation formerly know as Baptist Community Care.
Since it was founded in 1945, Baptcare has pursued excellence in every aspect of its work, integrating its holistic approach to care for each and every individual regardless of their faith, monetary, cultural or lifestyle backgrounds.
Baptcare's work began when Strathalan Community opened in 1945 as Australia's first Baptist Home for Elderly People. Since then, in the aged care area alone, it has invested more tha $70 million and extended its services to include Day Therapy, Community Aged Care Packages, Extended Aged Care at Home programs, and Respite and Day Centres in Melbourne and right across Victoria.
While we remain faithful to our Baptist and Christian traditions, Baptcare today is respected as an inclusive, dynamic and professional organisation which places community at the centre of everything we do.
