Corporate volunteering
Corporate volunteering is a commitment by a commercial organisation to encourage staff to volunteer in the not-for-profit sector. Businesses can play a key role in the development and maintenance of healthy communities by providing volunteers to participate in community programs.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping Baptcare reach out to more Victorians in need. Corporates have the opportunity to offer their staff a chance to make a real difference in Victorian. Baptcare’s corporate volunteering program offers a great way to for them contribute to the community.
In the past, ANZ, National Australia Bank and Harcourt Education have all provided volunteers to manage the gift wrapping stalls, Baptcare’s annual community fundraising event.
Apart from corporate volunteering, corporates can also contribute to a worthy cause by initiating a workplace giving program, or by offering sponsorship.
Our ongoing sponsor, City West Water, provides Baptcare with monetary support as well as volunteers. Staff at City West Water have been a wonderful help at Abercare’s annual Santa Shop by packing and delivering Christmas hampers, as well as collecting donated items to include in the hampers.
"Ruth and I really enjoyed spending time in the Abercare Santa Shop and also helping to make up the Christmas hampers. It gave us both a great feeling knowing we were helping others in need at this time of the year. At City West Water we’ve been involved with Abercare for a number of years now, and we love the affiliation we have with Abercare, and the opportunities we have to work together for our community."
