The sun shone on the Baptcare and Medirest Charity Golf Day held on May 3. Arriving at 7:30am in the fog, around 70 players from 36 businesses gathered at the Heritage Golf and Country Club in Chirnside Park to play 18 holes at this prestigious course. After a bacon and egg breakfast, the players headed off for an Ambrose-style game.

A Golf Pro was on course to take a shot for each player, while three competitions and two charity holes kept things interesting. After four hours of play, it was back to the clubhouse for a free neck and shoulder chair massage before lunch.

Comedian MC Wayne Deakin presided over lunch, giving everyone a few laughs and presenting prizes.
The purpose of the day was of course to raise funds for Baptcare’s various non-government funded programs. With the combined income of sponsorship fees, player fees and charity holes, over $42,000 was raised.

Thank you to our sponsors who made the day possible. “Medirest are extremely proud of our long-term partnership with Baptcare and it was our pleasure to be the Principal Sponsor this year,” said Paul Thoroughgood, General Manager.

As Major Sponsor AE Smith’s Peter McCarthy said, “everyone had a great day and it’s terrific to know the money raised will be spent on some very worthwhile projects”.
