Baptcare’s Bargain Browser retail store in Brunswick has recently been re-developed and transformed into an ‘ethical and earth-kind op shop’ called EEKOS. The new store is a partnership between Baptcare and Green Collect.

Open day at EEKOS
An open day was held on Saturday the 5th of April to celebrate the launch of the new store. Curious faces glimpsing into the shop’s window were welcomed in to enjoy free coffee tastings and free locally produced food while children were entertained with face painting, aboriginal story telling and aboriginal craft activities. Environmentally friendly show bags were handed out to all shoppers.
Part of the shop’s refurbishment involved a giant tree being painted on one of the walls. Painted by a local artist, this tree represents ecology and growth.

Ethical shopping at EEKOS
EEKOS is committed to the values of environmental sustainability and social justice, and will only sell products that are ‘best buys’ according to environmental and ethical standards. The products are either local, fair trade, chemical free, reused, promote justice or minimise waste. As well as the environmentally conscious, EEKOS will be the place to go for trendsetters who prefer the classics of vintage and retro clothing.
By shopping at EEKOS, you will not only be reducing your impact on the environment, but you will also support unemployed job seekers to secure pathways to future employment.
The store’s collection consists of a combination of vintage/retro clothing, environmentally and ethically friendly household products and locally produced gift items. So come to EEKOS for an original, environmentally friendly produced bargain!
Where is eekos?
EEKOS is located at 318 Victoria Street, Brunswick and is open from 9.30am, Monday to Saturday.
