Bushfire victims will receive much needed relief with the launch of Baptcare’s Bushfire Relief Appeal in partnership with the Baptist Union of Victoria (BUV).

Baptcare, a Victorian and Tasmanian welfare provider, has contributed $50,000 towards relief for individuals, families and the community who have been affected by the devastation.
On behalf of rural Victoria, Baptcare and the BUV are urging the public to donate generously today to help those in dire situations.

“Baptcare is committed to providing as much relief as possible to the communities and individuals most severely affected by the bushfires. Understanding and overcoming the loss will take time, and we aim to do our best in providing ongoing support to the affected regions,” said acting chief executive, Dr Andrew Curtis.

All monetary contributions will be distributed through Baptist Churches, and those seeking financial support are urged to contact their local Baptist congregation. All donations will be allocated to emergency relief including emergency accommodation, counselling, clothing and food.

“Many of our churches are generously caring for those in need, and we want to support them in their desire to bring comfort and practical assistance to those in their wider communities,” said Rev Anne Wilkinson-Hayes, acting BUV director of ministries.
