At Baptcare we are committed to providing a range of services to many different people throughout the community. As a not-for-profit body we continuously seek funding from various sources, and have been fortunate enough to receive vital financial and non-financial assistance from many individuals in the community over many years.

In honour of our long-standing supporters, loyal volunteers and people who have decided to name Baptcare in their will, we recently organised a luncheon to simply say ‘thank you’. This first-time event paid tribute to those key supporters that uphold our commitment to serving over 2,000 disadvantaged individuals throughout Victoria and Tasmania.

Just over 100 invitees joined us at Arlington at Wattle Park Chalet in Surrey Hills on the 17th of October where guests enjoyed a three course meal and the opportunity to share stories and meet new faces. The day concluded with a performance by a barbershop group, the Melbournaires Harmony Chorus, one of the best competing choruses in Australia. The guests were also entertained over the day by a well known Melbourne Harpist.

Emotional stories were shared by the father of one of Baptcare’s young clients: his son received Baptcare’s early years intervention service, and has since been transformed into a confident and happy little boy.

“This was a significant and exciting occasion for our organisation as it was the first time we have brought together key supporters of Baptcare to thank them for their hard work and commitment. We are fortunate enough to have received tremendous support from these individuals over the years, and this was a simple gesture to say thank you.”

said Jeff Davey, Baptcare’s Chief Executive.

Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, the costs of the luncheon were fully covered. Thank you to Colorpoint, Joseph’s Chain, Australian Home Care Services, Electech, Lifehealthcare Hospital & Rehab, Sentinel Fire Services, AE Smith and Corporate Express who made this day possible.
