Bequests - The Gift of a Lifetime
What better gift can you give to future generations than leaving a legacy to Baptcare: a gift which will touch the hearts and souls of countless people, young and old.
By supporting Baptcare in this way, you could make such a difference to:
- our older population who need residential or community care;
- our children who, from time to time, need foster care;
- our youth in crisis;
- our families who may need a listening ear or more tangible support;
- our farmers who have fought droughts and bushfires simultaneously;
- a significant number of asylum seekers who face homelessness, isolation and depression.
People Make a Difference
If you have not already made a Will, for whatever reason, perhaps it is time to take action for the sake of your loved ones and your own peace of mind. After making adequate provision for your family and friends, you may wish to include one or more worthy causes, like Baptcare, in your Will.
Our Booklet
We have published a booklet called ‘Touch the Future’ which not only outlines Baptcare’s unique services, but provides the opportunity to continue to support Baptcare’s work through a bequest. There is a check list to help you identify whether you need to write or update your Will. Also included are details of our ‘Circle of Friends’ Club, which is a very special group composed of people who have told us that they plan to leave at least part of their estate to Baptcare.

Your bequest will Touch the Future.
Circle of Friends Club
Circle of Friends is a very special group composed of people who have told us that they plan to leave at least part of their estate to Baptcare. Circle of Friends is our way of recognising and honouring its members during their lifetime – when they are able to accept our heart-felt thanks and appreciation for their generosity in person.
As a Circle of Friends member there is no obligation other than letting us know that a bequest has been left in your Will.
Baptcare’s Circle of Friends members are entitled to:
- an annual invitation to an exclusive event and the opportunity to learn about Baptcare’s current projects and achievements;
- a beautiful lapel badge which will be presented to each new club member;
- a copy of Baptcare’s Annual Report;
- your name included in the Circle of Friends Honour Roll;
- plus, you will meet other like minded men and women who are also Circle of Friends members.
We hope that, as a member of the Circle of Friends, you will receive a feeling of satisfaction and a lifetime of well-deserved recognition. But most importantly you will have the satisfaction of knowing that the work you have supported and valued will continue long into the future.
How do I word a bequest or codicil to Baptcare?
After providing for dependants and loved ones, your Will gives you the opportunity to create something of everlasting significance and importance by way of a charitable bequest to Baptcare. There are a variety of ways you can make a gift to Baptcare. Initially you should talk with your solicitor or an officer at a trustee company to discuss the way to document the gift in your Will. However, the simplest way to leave Baptcare a bequest in your Will is naming us as one of the residual benefactors. If you already have a current Will and wish to make a simple addition, you may add a codicil to your existing
Will. However, the same rules of Will writing apply to adding a codicil as to writing a new Will.
Making a bequest: the right words
We suggest that if you wish to make a gift to Baptcare you insert the following clause in your Will or a codicil to your Will:
I ________________________ (state your full name) leave Baptcare of 1193 Toorak Road, Camberwell Victoria 3124, (the residual of my estate or the amount or percentage)* ________________ (include amount/description of gift)* for its ________________________ (Identify the program, facility or service that you would like it allocated to or general purpose)* and declare that the receipt or acknowledgement of its Chief Executive will be satisfactory to release the responsibility of my Executors or Trustees in respect of this bequest.
