Westhaven Community is an Award Winning Facility, recently receiving two Better Practice in Aged Care Awards, for its Exceptional Food Services and its Innovative Palliative Care Model. Congratulations Westhaven!

Westhaven Community provides care to 127 older Victorians in a purpose-built, modern, aged care facility in the heart of Footscray.

While Westhaven is situated in a busy business area, it is surrounded by generous gardens. The closeness of shops and cafes offers residents and families an ample and unique opportunity to remain part of the vibrant local community.

The care staff are a team of professionals ranging from Registered Nurses to Personal Care Workers to Therapists. The care units accommodate people who need different levels of care so that the staff skill mix will match the needs of the residents.

The care program is targeted at meeting the individual needs of the aged people living at Westhaven. There is a robust quality system in place to ensure that Baptcare actively seeks feedback about its services, from residents and others. Baptcare aims to exceed the required standards.

Residents have freedom of choice, they can be involved in the diverse activities program or they can enjoy a quiet moment in one of the lounge areas. Families and friends are also welcome to participate. Meals are prepared onsite, offering residents nutritious and delicious choices that meet their dietary needs.

Accommodation consists of single rooms, each with a private ensuite. The building is constructed over three levels, most of the upstairs rooms have a balcony and sweeping views of the local area. The building’s design ensures it is airy and bright, with the north facing main rooms allowing the light to flood in on all levels.

There is a significant community feel at Westhaven; a warm atmosphere and family and friends play a vital role in all aspects of life. Both staff and residents generally come from the local area, adding to the ambience of the home.
