St Hilary's Community

In April 2007, St Hilary's Community was demolished to make way for a new 51-bed high and low care facility on the existing site.

The re-development of St Hilary’s Community is now complete and will be unveiled on the 11th September 2008 by Federal Member of Gippsland, Darren Chester.

St Hilary’s residents, who had been transferred temporarily to the former St Lawrence Private Nursing Home, have since moved back into the new facility which is perfectly situated to ensure residents have easy access to community activities such as shopping, the RSL, the local rose garden, and the art gallery. The redevelopment has been greeted with much excitement from the Morwell community and it is anticipated that the extra beds will also ease the pressure from residential waiting lists.

The re-development of St Hilary’s Community and the near completion of Hedley Sutton Community is a momentous occasion for Baptcare as it marks  the end of the re-building program commenced over a decade ago to transform Baptcare’s six Victorian homes into residential ‘facilities of excellence’.

At St Hilary's Community, a team of dedicated registered nurses, personal carers and therapy staff will work together to ensure they understand each individual resident’s needs and preferences and work with the resident and their family, drawing up a plan of care that addresses their needs and desires.
